About Me

Kirk-Ann Roberts is a Poet, director, writer and workshop facilitator. Her work explores identity, heritage, memory and social histories, often amplifying marginalised voices through intimate and visually rich storytelling.

She is an alumna of the Young Vic Intro to Directing Programme (2018), where she was mentored by Natalie Abrahami. Kirk-Ann previously worked as an Assistant Dramaturg at the Young Vic on the Neighbourhood Voices project, supporting emerging playwrights, and was a member of the Tamasha Theatre Company Directors Programme (2021–2023).

A finalist in the Roundhouse Poetry Slam 2019, a former member of their Poetry Collective and Resident Artist Programme (2019–2021), where she developed her debut play British Book, later programmed at the Roundhouse Last Word Festival (2021). As a poet, she has performed at venues and events including Citadel Festival, Jawdance, Sofar Sounds and the Birmingham Hippodrome Uni slam.

Alongside her creative practice, Kirk-Ann facilitates workshops and has collaborated with organisations including the National Theatre, Talawa Theatre Company, Almeida Theatre, London Bubble Theatre Company, Blue Elephant Theatre, Emergency Exit Arts, Bernie Grants Art Centre and Lauderdale House.

Kirk-Ann brings both artistic sensitivity and rigorous organisation to her practice. She is drawn to projects that sit between raw honesty and visual elegance, where language, movement and image collide, committed to building work that is bold, human, and uncompromising in its emotional truth.
